About Era of Rebellion

Era of Rebellion is a collection of fan art and fan fiction set in the Star Wars universe created by Christopher Levy in the fall of 2005 with the goal of presenting an fan-created Star Wars saga to the world.

What's unique about the fan fiction at Era of Rebellion is that many of the stories were created by individuals who role-played the story, including one successful campaign that was sponsored by TheForce.Net in the summer of 2006. The role-play sessions are recorded as they are occurring and later edited into short story format. This allows for the perspective of each character come from a different writer with a unique perspective of the scene. Truly, these stories are a step beyond fan fiction, and are best described as 'interactive fan fiction.'. To enhance the stories, characters, and locations world-renowned Star Wars have been hired to bring them life. When completed, the stories and artwork will be printed in a commemorative book, which will not be sold.

About the Era of Rebellion story

Era of Rebellion takes place four months before the Battle of Yavin during the Galactic Civil War featured in the original Star Wars trilogy (Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi). The stories center on the Galactic Civil War and are presented from both sides of the conflict and those caught in the middle. Often, the stories tell personal tales of the characters and provide a window into their souls that is rarely seen in material of this kind.

One of the most unique aspects of Era of Rebellion is that the Rebels and Imperials are not presented as flat, two-dimensional, good and evil forces. The story presents the Galactic Empire as a government led by an evil man attempting to force his Will on the galaxy, but presents its members as honest individuals who support and carry out the policies of the legally-constituted government. In the eyes of the Galactic Empire, the Rebel Alliance is viewed as a terrorist organization seeking to spread civil unrest and disorder throughout the galaxy and endanger the lives and property of its citizenry.

Official Star Wars characters do exist in the story. Do not expect to see Obi-Wan Kenobi walk into a bar and cut off someone's arm with a lightsaber. The story is designed to exist without disrupting official Star Wars continuity. The events that occur in the story are consistent with the events of the Star Wars universe. Events occur exactly as depicted in the Star Wars films, novels, and comics. The Battle of Yavin will occur exactly as depicted in Star Wars. Writers are unable to disrupt official Star Wars continuity.
